These tests help monitor blood sugar levels, so you can manage your diabetes. The results can help you track your progress and evaluate how well your diabetes treatment plan is working.

Fasting is required for this test for 8-12 hours before your appointment. Fasting before a blood draw means you don’t eat or drink anything except water. Those who choose not to fast may show elevated glucose levels.

Glucose (Blood Sugar)

The Glucose test identifies high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) or low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

Hemoglobin A1c Test

This test is the gold standard for measuring blood sugar (glucose) levels, as it identifies average blood sugar levels over the past 2 to 3 months. This test can be used to evaluate diabetes risk and to help those with diabetes monitor their treatment plan.
