The MMR Test (Measles, Mumps, Rubella Immunization Assessment) can confirm if you’ve been infected with measles, mumps, or rubella, and provide proof of immunity. If you’ve been exposed to these viruses or have received an MMR vaccination, the test will detect IgG, an antibody that provides protection against re-infection. This can serve as evidence of immunity for students, international travelers, and anyone else required to prove that they can’t start an outbreak of these highly contagious conditions.
This MMR Test may be right for you or your child if you’re:
- Unsure if you’ve had measles, mumps, or rubella or the MMR vaccination in the past
- Attending a school or working in a job that requires proof of immunity from MMR
- Planning an international trip
- Living in a community where a measles, mumps, or rubella outbreak is occurring and you want to make sure you or your child is protected
This test is not right for you or your child if you’re:
- Sick and want to confirm an active measles, mumps and/or rubella infection
If you have questions about whether this test is right for you or your child, please contact your healthcare provider.
